Visit to La Roche Posay, France!

Last week whilst visiting family in western France, I decided to return to La Roche Posay situated only fifteen minutes from where we were staying. It is famous for its thermal waters and spa which have been known to help with a wide range of skin disorders including eczema, skin damage following cancer treatment and scarring.

The water filters slowly through layers of limestone and clay and absorbs micronutrients which gently repair the skin to its ideal PH level.

One major point when you stroll around the town is the public source where you can fill up your empty bottles with the town's spring water. The locals can be seen filling huge bottles on a daily basis.

From one of the local pharmacies directly opposite, I picked up two products for my kit.

Cicaplast

The product accelerates the reconstruction of irritated and chapped skin

The product is like a serum in a way and I found it very soothing on my skin. If the skin is feeling irritated or tight, maybe after sun exposure as an example, this product would work wonders.

Effaclar H

Good for Oily skin weakened by over drying treatments it says on the tube.

The product felt moisturising to the skin but not in a greasy way. Again a soothing feel on the skin I suffer with some redness on my cheeks at times and it took the redness down. Skin felt very smooth with a thin layer applied.

This product can be applied morning and evening to cleansed skin using a tiny pea sized amount.

I love the La Roche Posay products which can be found in your local Boots store. I have tried a few others in my kit as I do often come across clients who suffer with roscea and are in need of a little TLC to the skin. I often recommend the products as I am familiar with the town but after trying them myself, I know they work.

We took a drive out of the town slightly to see where the factory was situated and looked like we were on a stake out a little. I would have loved to go on a tour to see how they make the products.

If you would like to visit the website (La Roche Posay) with any skin concern, I highly recommend it. You can find answers to questions from top skin experts and find products that would match your skin condition.

Until next time..

Happy Mothers Day!

My mum has always been interested in beauty products. We recently chatted about her favourite products.

So I will pass over to mum who will give you the low down on her best buys..

Estee Lauder Daywear Sheer Tint Release Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Moisturizer SPF15 50ml

I have been using this product for two years now.
The tint is really light in texture and blends easily into the skin. I love the fact the tint develops to my skin tone, so no orange tangoed look which makes me feel confident whenever I wear this product, which is generally during the week for work.
With a refreshing cucumber smell and lovely glow is achieved with a little going a long way.
The tint costs £37.00 but lasts me a long time.
Not just a tint for the summer but all year round this can be used! A healthy sheen with good coverage for fine lines or dull skin.

Anastasia Brow Wiz

Kimberley recommended this pencil to me and the Cult Beauty website, which I totally love.
I feel the pencil defines my brows without looking too harsh. A really fine pencil which means you can create realistic brow hairs and shape your brows to your chosen shape.
A long lasting product with good staying power, I apply this in the morning and its still there at the end of my working day.
I draw on my brows then use the brush on the opposite end to blend in the pencil. Really easy to use!
Priced at £15.50, a keeper in my makeup bag.

Laura Mercier Lipstick

I do love the Laura Mercier range and can be found having a little nosey around the nearest Space NK shop in my lunch break.
I have been using this lipstick now for a couple of years. Picked it up on a little shopping spree in the above mentioned shop with Kimberley.
I like the face that it is moisturising but long lasting. I only have to reapply after a couple of cups of coffee.
The colour looks darker in the picture but once on it gives a subtle hint of rouge.

Astral Moisturiser

I have been using this face moisturiser now for 15 years! It is a lightweight cream that just does the job. My skin feels moisturised all day, once applied it soaks in quickly leaving no greasy residue.
I actually could not live without Astral, I have not found a moisturiser that compares, either they are too light or too heavy.
With a slight hint of a smell, I would describe it as a refreshing smell which does not linger.
A bargain at £1.49, I prefer to buy the small tub myself as a fresh pot every 3-4 months just adds to buying this lovely product.
Astral can be purchased in most places, which again is definitely a plus point for me!

Happy Mothers Day!

I hope you enjoyed reading this month's blog courtesy of mammy!

Valentines products to simply fall in love with!

Into February already and love is in the air....

If you are heading out with a loved one or fancy trying something different, then I have a few products below that you simply cannot do without.

Lime Crime Velvetines - Suedeberry Lipstick

A gorgeous light matte red lipstick which looks stunning when applied.
I love the packaging, it would be a great present for someone or look good in any makeup bag.
Applied so easily to my lips, although it is matte, my lips did not feel dry upon application.
The lipstick is totally waterproof and long lasting, so pucker up!!
This is the second most popular lipstick in the Lime Crime Velvetines range. The first is red velvet which is a darker red.
Totally addicted already! A new shade has just been launched in the range, pink velvet a fab bright pink colour which looks so fresh for spring time.
I would recommend exfoliating the lips and applying a lip balm before using, just to make sure once the product dries, it does not pick up on any dry areas. Much like most lipsticks really, a smooth base is a must for kissable lips!
Priced at £13.00, if you are anything like me, you will wonder why you waited so long to try it. Photographs really well too! Perfect for those selfies!

Illamasqua Nail Varnish - Untold

A red glitter which can be used on its own like a clear varnish which has a red sparkle to it. I decided to use it on top of a OPI shade I had in my collection, perfect for valentines.. Wine and Dine.
I simply used my normal base coat, applied two coats of OPI Wine and Dine and then applied one coat of the red glitter. To give a nice shiny finish, I applied a glossy top coat to seal it all in nicely.
Very impressed with this shade, so pretty, would work for Valentines, Christmas inparticular or any special occasion. Love it!
Priced at £14.50, this would last you a while as you only need one coat on top of a shade of choice. Get creative and add a pop of sparkle!

Illamasqua Precision Gel Liner

A cream jet black eyeliner, a popular product with every makeup addict!
Gives a liquid liner finish, so easy to apply and goes on really smoothly. No drying affect, just glides on giving the perfect cat eyed look.
The line is waterproof and long lasting, perfect for brides or those occasions where you just need to be able to rely on your eyeliner to see you through to the end of the day with minimal top up.
I usually use MAC gel liner but I am now converted and will be using this product on my clients!
Priced at £18.00 this pot will last you and you will keep dipping in for more.
I hope soon they release some more colours to try!
Use with a fine liner brush to apply and make sure the lids are primed before hand.

Well ladies....Whatever you have planned on 14th or you really are not interested in valentines day and think its a load of old rubbish, a little beauty splurge with one of these beauties you will certainly not regret.

Dermalogica Active Moist Skin Kit

Happy New Year Everyone! A little delayed I know...

I have been a little quiet recently due to becoming a mummy for the first time. My son was born in November last year and since then plus with Christmas, it has been a busy few months and I have not managed to update my blog.

Thought I would start the new year with a blog!

At 10 weeks post pregnancy my skin has been looking pretty dull, dry in need of some skin products to help get it back to its previous condition

I recently purchased the Dermalogica Active Moist Skin Kit which is a limited edition kit in order to give my skin that pick me up. I have to say I am really pleased, my skin already feels fresh and clean.

With the kit you receive free a Dermal Clay Cleanser and Pre Cleanse, plus you get to choose two free samples. On this occasion I opted for Daily Microfoliant and Skin Hydration Booster.

Displaying photo.JPG

Pre Cleanse

You only need a small amount of this product. It is a oil which you rub over the face and it really shifts any makeup you may have on before you start with your cleanser.
Once you have smoothed the oil over the face you simply rinse off and you are ready for the next step.
I love the smell of the pre cleanse, it comes in a 30ml bottle which I think lasts a good few months maybe even longer as you only use a small pea sized amount.
The oil is very light and contains Olive and Apricot Kernel, Kukui Nut and Borage Seed.
Really feels like you are treating the skin and massaging this in even manages to get rid of waterproof mascara!

Displaying photo.JPG

Dermal Clay Cleanser

A refreshing menthol based product which gives a cool feeling to the skin. Not a over powering smell enough to feel fresh on the skin.

The clay formula helps absorb excess oils. A small amount if used you can apply to your already damp face after the pre cleanse and with light upward strokes massage into the skin. Once you have applied you simply wash off with warm water.
The bottle is 50ml so great travel size but again, this would last you a good few months.
I quite like to use products I rinse off, just gives the feeling that you are really cleaning the skin and boosting its hydration levels.

Displaying photo.JPG

Active Moist

A refreshing lemon smell to this light weight moisturiser. Hydrates the skin without leaving a oily feel to the skin. Great for dehydrated skin, works well under makeup too!

This is a good size tube at 100ml.
I often have this product in my makeup kit as I feel it works well on a lot of skin types.
My skin looked noticeably smoother and made my foundation sit well on my skin.
Containing some lovely herbs, Lemon Fruit, Ivy, Watercress, Lavender, Mallow and Cucumber. All of which refine, soothe and provide some much needed hydration.

Displaying photo.JPG
Daily Microfoliant

A big fan of this product for a while now, I first used this back in my college days studying to be a beauty therapist.

A light not harsh exfoliator which rids of any dead skin debris and leaves a brighter and smoother finish.
A small amount is used, this is a powder and is mixed with a few drops of water in the palm of your hand and applied using small circles over the skin, concentrating on the areas around your nose and any areas which are suffering from noticeable flakes of dryness.
This product is gentle enough to use everyday but I choose to use a few times a week.
A versatile product, can be used to balance uneven pigmentation.

Displaying photo.JPG
Skin Hydration Booster

A new product to me, I have not tried this before. What appealed to me was it was a hydrating fluid for dehydrated skin types like mine!

Can be used on the lips and under eyes which show signs of fine lines or dryness.
You would apply the booster before your moisturiser. Only a few drops are required and will cover the entire face.
The booster contains Pro Vitamin B5 and Algae Extract which will help to repair, hydrate, restore and moisturise the skin. Just what my parched skin needed!

I think this kit is a must buy! It contains everything you need to get your skin back on track. You get into a good skin care routine as you want to use the products as they feel great and smell good, so not just because you feel you must follow a skin routine.
I look forward to using them on a morning and evening.

I think the offer runs out soon.. and depending on your skin type their are many other skin kits to choose from Dermalogica.

I would love to hear what Dermalogica products you love or simply your go to products this winter.

Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Halloween is this week and for those going to parties and celebrating this weekend I thought I would post up a makeup tutorial for you to follow!

Products used:

Limecrime Eyeshadow Helper
Illamasqua Skinbase (SB02)
Sleek Liquorice Black, Parma Violet, Flump, Cream Soda Eyeshadow
Eylure Pre Glue Lashes
Revlon Black Cherry Lipstick
MAC Smolder Kohl Pencil
MAC Black Track Fluidline
Barry M Dazzle Dust (Cherry Red)
Illamasqua Sealing Gel
Fake Blood (Brought from local £1 store)

Step by Step...

Eyes..

  • Apply the Limecrime Eyeshadow Helper to both lids patting and smoothing gently onto the eyelid.

  • Take your Sleek eyeshadow palette and first of all apply the Cream Soda shade to the whole of the lid using a shadow brush. Building up the intensity on the lid gradually. You can take this shade up under the brow also.

  • Next take the Liquorice shade using a pointed blender or liner brush apply the shadow starting just above the Cream Soda shade you have just applied, apply the shade contour the white shade in a banana shape. Next take a blending brush and blend around the lid forming a banana type shape as you blend. Keep building up this intensity until the right amount of black intensity has taken shape.

  • You may want to apply some more Cream Soda shadow at this point to the lid.

  • Next take your gel eyeliner and using a fine eyeliner brush paint follow the eye shape and leave a small flick at the end of the eye. You can make this line slightly thicker at the corner of the eye.

  • Using the kohl black pencil, use this to blacken the waterline.

  • Curl the lashes and use a mascara top and bottom.

  • Next you can apply your false lashes.

  • Take a few drops of the Illamasqua sealing gel and your Barry M Red Dazzle Dust, mix together on the back of your hand to a good consistency and go over the gel liner you applied to the upper lid with a liner brush. Next bring it down to run under the eyelid.

  • For the brows, using the Illamasqua sealing gel and Sleek Liquorice eyeshadow mix together with your angled brush and apply following a nice arch shape to the brow

  • To neaten up, you could use a black eyebrow pencil to give a nice arch shape.

  • I used the Barry M red dazzle dust for the first part of the brow using a angled brush again and blended in slightly to the black colour.
Base..

  • You may have to clean up a little under the eyes with wipes if any fall out of shadow. Do this before applying the foundation
  • Making sure the skin is cleansed and moisturised, apply a face primer to the skin.
  • Using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush, apply the Illamasqua Skin Base foundation lightly to the skin blending outwards.
  • A under eye concealer will need to be used under the eye just to cover any imperfections
  • Use a finishing or translucent powder to finish the skin and set.
Fun Bit..

  • Next apply the fake blood using a brush apply under the eyes, same as the picture above and then using the tube dribble the rest down the cheeks.
Lips..

  • Take your MAC Smolder black kohl pencil, line the lips and slightly shade the lips.
  • Next take the Revlon Black Cherry lipstick and lip brush apply to the lips. The two colour will mix slightly together and will give a darker lipped look.
You could obviously experiment with other colours or glitters with this look. It is very versatile or place the blood to the corner of the lips instead of running down the cheeks!

Here is another look I created using the Snazaroo face paints from Hobbycraft.

Have fun experimenting & Happy Halloween!!

Difference in Lashes / Lash Advice

I wanted to take some time to share with you all the difference in eyelash treatments and hopefully provide you with some ideas to what to look for or what might suit your personal preference.

Party / Cluster Eyelashes

These lashes are mainly used by makeup artists and are mainly used for one night only or special occasion. They would be applied by using a very temporary glue and would easily slide off with your eye makeup remover at the end of the day.

Here is a picture of a cluster lash. As you can see its three individual lashes which are knotted at the bottom. They can just be applied to the corner of the eye or sometimes more is applied to hide any gaps in your natural lashes or to achieve a fuller lash look.

I find the flare/cluster lashes you can buy in your local Boots/Superdrug or online the best size is small and medium. Generally the long styles are just that bit too long.

Salons now offer 'party lashes' as a treatment which normally takes around 30 minutes and can be a quicker alternative to the individual type.
These lashes MUST be removed by a professional and not worn any longer then a few days to prevent any damage to your natural lashes.
Price in a salon for this treatment varies from £16.00 - £20.00
Price with a makeup artist for these lashes are normally incorporated in the price or they may charge a small fee extra. This is for the one day/one night only type.

I would not recommend these lashes are not applied on top of individual eyelash extensions to gain extra drama, this will just add more weight onto your natural lashes and could possibly cause your natural lashes to shed quicker. Plus I could imagine this would be a nightmare for removing for any technician.

Express Lashes

For those short on time!
This treatment consists of individual lashes being applied along the lash line but not isolated onto your natural lashes one at a time. A full lash line is achieved and a natural or dramatic look can be achieved. The finished look can be similar to a strip lash.
Again, the lashes MUST be removed by a professional and I would not leave these lashes on for longer then one week. Nouveau lashes do a great treatment and the treatment is simply called Express Lashes or Lets go Lashes.

http://www.nouveaubeautygroup.com/lets-go/

Individual Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions

A set of eyelash extensions require precision, skill and concentration as each lash is applied to each individual natural lash. Single strands of synthetic fibres are applied and come in various lengths, volumes and curls.
Lashes can be styled to give volume, length, drama or a more natural look.
The treatment is suitable to be worn for 3-4 weeks and a infill appointment is necessary to remove any lashes which are growing out and replace any lashes that have naturally dropped due to your individual lash cycle.

This treatment is ever changing and new techniques are being introduced to provide clients with the ultimate lash look.

It is best to look out for a technician with experience, qualifications, insurance and training. Check out photo's and a consultation, patch test is necessary to make sure all areas are covered.

A patch test will consist of adding two - three lashes on the corners of your eyes and left for 24-48 hours to see if any reaction occurs.

This treatment will take longer then the other treatments mentioned due to precision required.

Of course this treatment is not for everybody. Best to check with your technician and she can ask the right questions to establish if you are suitable. For instance if you constantly touch your own lashes or cannot keep up with the upkeep then these may not be the right choice for you. Lifestyle is a very important with this type of treatment.

Lots of salons offer this treatment and many now offer a specialist service purely in eyelash extensions. The price does vary but the way I see it, you pay sometimes for the quality and a cheap lashes may end up costing you another set of lashes eventually.

Aftercare for Individual Eyelash Extensions

It is paramount that the right aftercare is given and followed with your new set of eyelash extensions. To make sure your own lashes are taken care of and so the extensions last that much longer for you.

The main points being the following:
  • Avoid overly touching, pulling or tugging your extensions
  • Avoid wearing mascara only use eyelash extension mascara designed for this treatment. You cannot buy this in your local Boots. Your best bet is online or ask your technician for details.
  • Make sure your eye makeup remover does not contain Glycol (Oil) as this will break down the bond of the glue. See my last blog on makeup removers.
  • Keep the eye area clean. Do avoid any eye infections.
  • Try to sleep on your back to avoid crushing your new lashes
  • Apply a lash conditioner to strength, nourish your own lashes
They are pretty easy to look after but following the above will make it that much easier. Combing through the lashes everyday or after a shower helps to keep them uniform and tidy.

Corrections / Removal of Lashes

A little while ago I had a young lady visit me in floods of tears after having a set of cluster lashes applied the day before. I agreed to help out as that evening she was celebrating her 21st birthday. The lashes were causing a lot of pain!
Upon inspection, I noticed the lashes were applied with the thickest amount of glue, it literally looked like cement. All applied very closely to the skin and tightly packed in.
Poor girl!
With lots of determination and patience, I prized those lashes off with glue remover and she left with her own lashes. I advised to have a break from any lashes.

*Copyright of Makeup by Kimberley

Obviously this is worst case scenario but it is important to find the right treatment and technician from the outset.
Removal times must be stuck to, to ensure good eye health and the products best used to remove the lashes is a glue remover by the professional, the lashes will then slide off with ease.

Strip Lashes

A full set of individual lashes which are glued to give a full eyelash look.
This can be tricky little things to tackle and look great for many makeup looks. A temporary look but simple finish off a makeup look superbly.
My favourite lashes for this at the moment are from Amazing Shine and at a affordable cost.
I have in stock the 747 mainly and cluster lashes in small and medium but with so many styles to choose from you will love these lashes.

Check out the link below to order your pair!

http://www.colourcosmetics.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=648

As mentioned, I know these can be so tricky to apply. To help with this, the best tutorial I can find is by Lisa Eldridge (Makeup Artist) she can walk you through and you can master the skill. She covers what to look out for when purchasing a set.

http://lisaeldridge.com/video/2009/full-strip-fake-lashes/

Obviously their are many companies on the market for strip lashes. I like the following lashes when I use them for makeup jobs.

Ardell
Eylure
Amazing Shine

Duo is a great brand of glue to use. Its stay proof, waterproof and dries clear. You can buy the Duo glue in black too now. Best to purchase this online or from a department store, cost price is £10.00. This glue will keep you going for a long time.

http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/135/321/Duo-Adhesive/index.tmpl

Eyelash Growth Serums

For those that would like enhance their own lashes with a little help and no fuss or return visits.

I have not personally used one of these but I will be in the very near future and will record the results. I have however seen the results on a client of mine and the lashes can get very long!

The product originally was invented in the US to help with cancer patients to help stimulate the follicle cells to promote new hair growth.

Usually you will notice results with frequent use after a few months or so. They will look slightly thicker and longer. The product is applied to the lash roots and left on until the next application. The brush looks like a fine eyeliner brush and is easy to use.
Mascara can be worn as usual and you can have other treatments whilst using this product.
I do advise for any of my LVL  (Lash Volume Lift Treatment) clients to stop using this a few days before incase it interferes with the lifting of the lashes and to start using again after a few weeks just to be on the safe side and so the LVL lasts that much longer.

The following products have been recommended by technicians or clients.

RevitaLash
http://www.amazon.co.uk/RevitaLash-Eyelash-Conditioner/dp/B000LQLJN0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382789538&sr=8-2&keywords=revitalash

UberLash
http://www.lashbyfrancesca.co.uk/product/uberlash-growth-serum

The price does vary from £60 - £80.00 a bottle.

Nouveau LVL Lashes (Length, Volume, Length)

A treatment that is very similar to an eyelash perm but the products are that much gentler and involve using a silicon shield instead of a eyelash rod which can sometimes give an unrealistic curl to the lashes.

The treatment lasts for 4-6 weeks and is perfect for those who do not wish to have extensions or use any products like the serum for instance.
Taking just 45 minutes - 1 hour to carry out the treatment. Price varies from £35 - £50.00 and should include a colour boost (eyelash tint) to enhance the eyes.

Example of LVL Lash Client. *Copyright of Makeup by Kimberley

                                          Before Photo

                                          After Photo

A patch test must be carried out of the products and tint to ensure you are suitable for the treatment and will not react to any of the products.

Apart from the first 24 hours of not applying mascara or getting the lashes wet. You are given a comb to brush the lashes up and tidy and then you are free to carry on as normal with your lashes.

Perfect for holidays, if you have used the growth serum and would like some lift, before eyelash extensions for those with downward pointing or overly curly lashes, brides.

Here is a link to the LVL Lashes, you can see a treatment being carried out by Lisa Eldridge (Makeup Artist) and see what the fuss is all about!

I hope you found my blog post of some interest & help. It is a lash mind field out there but research proves beneficial as to what is right for you and your lifestyle. Which lashes do you prefer? I would love to know.

Top 5 Eye Makeup Removers for Eyelash Extension Wearers!

Some of you will know alongside my passion for makeup, I offer eyelash treatments. My main priority is to make sure those lashes stay put and are kept in the best possible health by the wearer.

After speaking with other lash technicians, it came to light my go to 'Simple Eye Makeup Remover' contained traces of oils. You would read 'Glycol' on the back of the label.

Glycol is not a friend to the lash glue and will break down the bond with constant use.

I know a lot of my lash clients are very clued up but I wanted to write a post to provide some examples of other eye makeup removers which can be used and of course are safe.

Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

A gentle formula and great for those with sensitive eyes. A little goes a long way with this product so if you are using cotton pads to remove eye shadow, you do not need to soak the pads in the product.
A refreshing, light liquid that easily removes even heavy makeup. The bottle is priced at around £8.00 but will keep you going for quiet a while.

Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion

I started using Liz Earle's products a little while back and became hooked on the Hot Cloth Cleanser contained in the Essentials Try Me Kit.
Most importantly you received the Soothing Eye Lotion which works well with the lashes.
The kit is priced around £23.00 and the Soothing Eye Lotion at £10.75 for 150ml bottle or you could try it out with the 50ml bottle at £5.50.
The lotion contains active ingredients such as eyebright, witch hazel, aloe vera and cornflower which is great to refresh tired eyes.
You will also get a nice cooling effect so great for hay fever suffers and can be used for those that wear contact lenses.
This product does not give a dragging or pulling effect when you are removing your eye makeup.

Simple Kind to Eyes Makeup Remover Pads

The wipes from Simple do not contain oils so are safe when removing eye makeup. You just need to be very delicate and careful when using the pads so not to drag across your lashes. I would not use these to remove mascara from your lashes and it will feel too harsh!
Therefore I would suggest using an a liquid and dipping a cotton wool bud or better still microfiber brush into it and gently stroking down the lashes.
Priced at £3.99 you cant go wrong, I always see offers on the Simple range in most stores.
You could also use the Simple Kind to Skin Facial Wipes.
Those with sensitive eyes or skin can benefit from these wipes. Quick and easy to use!

Eau Thermal Avene Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

Boots do a great range of the Avene thermal spring water range. The product is from France and specialises in sensitive, allergic to intolerant skin.  The product is formulated with the Avene Thermal Spring water and is said to have healing properties for the skin. Worth reading up on!
Again another good one for contact lens wearers, the gel like formula prevents drying of the eyelid and will not sting or irritate the eyes.
Use a cotton pad to remove most of your eye makeup but again any mascara on the lashes, use a cotton bud which has been dampened first of all to try and prevent any fibres from getting tangled in your beautiful lashes.

Origins Well Off Fast & Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

Another one of my favourites, as you will know from my previous post. Origins I just simply love at the moment and cant get enough of!
Go in store or order online (you can then sample a few of the other products)
This product smells lovely it must be the calming Rose Damascena protect.
No irritation or watery eyes once you use this product. Gentle but effective at removing stubborn eye makeup.
Priced at £17.00 but as mentioned previously, a little goes a long way.
Boots currently have an offer on if you order online you will receive a free gift!

A few tips..

To refresh the eye area even more so, put your bottle of eye makeup remover in the fridge before using. You will brighten up those tired eyes and feel refreshed.

Of course, if you use a eyelash extension mascara it MUST be water based NOT water proof. Water based mascaras contain no oils and are gentler on eyelashes.

Dampening slightly a cotton pad or cotton bud before using a eye makeup remover is great, as you will not remove any fibres especially from the cotton pad. You do not want to get these entangled with your new set of lashes.

Microfibre brushes can be brought from your lash technician or online. They are very fine brushes and can help clean the lashes perfectly without worrying about any fibres.

Biggest tip, look at the labels.. any product containing Glycol is a no go for those wearing eyelash extensions!

I hope this post has been helpful in picking an eye makeup remover suitable for you and your budget.

Do you have another eye makeup remover you choose to use when you wear eyelash extensions? I would love to know..
